UN-Habitat has officially opened the call for expression of interest to host the fourteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF14), to take place in 2028. Cities and countries worldwide are invited to apply to host the fourteenth edition of the world’s premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Applications should be received by 15 April 2025.
Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2001, the World Urban Forum (WUF) is the leading international platform for exchanging knowledge and innovative solutions on urban development. Held every two years, the Forum gathers a wide range of participants, including policymakers, local government leaders, civil society, academics, and private sector representatives to shape the future of cities and human settlements.
Why host?
Hosting WUF provides an opportunity for cities and countries to showcase their commitment to sustainable urban development and global collaboration. WUF is a chance to highlight local innovation, attract international attention, learn from best practice, and contribute to advancing the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
