What is a UTC?

It is a World Urban Campaign project that brings together stakeholders from different sectors and backgrounds to exchange ideas, share best practices, and co-create solutions for urban challenges. The UTC is a platform for dialogue, learning, and action that supports the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The theme of the Kisumu 2.0 UTC is “Transforming Kisumu: Building a Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable City for All”.

The event will explore how Kisumu can leverage its cultural, social, economic, and environmental assets to foster innovation, creativity, and collaboration for urban transformation. The event will also showcase some of the amazing initiatives and projects that are already making a positive impact in Kisumu and beyond.

The event will bring together urban stakeholders from various sectors and backgrounds, such as government, academia, civil society, private sector, media, and youth, to share their perspectives and solutions for Kisumu’s urban future.
