EGYPT URBAN CAMPAIGN: Collaborative Upgrading of Public Space

UDF is excited to announce the upcoming Egypt Urban Campaign 2-day workshop in the Asmarat Neighbourhood. The workshop will be under the theme of "Collaborative Upgrading of Public Space in Asmarat." The event is organized by Habitat for Humanity International and will be facilitated by the BENAA Foundation and the Makanuna مَكَــــــــــــــــــــانُنَا Placemaking Initiative, in collaboration with Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport AASTMT smart village campus. The workshop is scheduled to take place from the 3rd to the 4th of July 2024 and aims to empower the residents of Asmarat through hands-on activities and creative engagement.
On the first day, a workshop led by the BENAA Foundation will focus on low-cost solutions for environmental challenges like heat stress. Additionally, there will be a place-making workshop for children facilitated by Makanuna, aimed at encouraging creativity and community pride.
The second day will involve residents working together with Makanuna and BENAA on community interventions. There will also be the launch of a drawing competition for children aged 10-16 by UDF, celebrating their artistic talents and unique perspectives on their neighborhood.
