Policy Transfer Platform
Policy Transfer Platform
Solution proposed by:
Metropolis, World Association of the major metropolises
In a Nutshell:
The Policy Transfer Platform is developed and run by the city of Berlin as part of Berlin’s Metropolis Initiative on Policy Transfer (2015-2017). It is a tool to help share innovative projects among cities worldwide. With your help, we aim to provide a global resource for urban practitioners, experts and researchers who wish to learn from examples around the world in order to improve their own city. We work with the world’s leading urban awards to provide you with a one-stop shop for internationally recognized case studies.
Where and When:
The Platform showcases projects from Metropolis member cities - some of the largest cities in the world - and others.
There are dozens of international city awards, but it is hard to find what you need. We unite projects from eight leading city awards and different annual editions.
The platform promotes good practices in Integrated Urban Governance. The fi eld of IUG refers to actions conducted or supported by city governments. This concept implies horizontal and vertical integration of stakeholders in urban governance processes. Generally, case studies are welcome if they adopt an Integrated Urban Governance approach in whatever shape or form and regardless of their specific outcome. It is also in the interest of Metropolis to include a wide range of different and complementary cases in order to take account of the many challenges that cities are facing.
Based on voluntary contributions and institutional partnerships, we are aiming to build a comprehensive database of case studies on urban innovation with an active network of experts for you to advertise your interests and skills and to connect with peers in your field.
After your account has been activated, you can: - upload case studies from your city, - find experts with similar interests or exciting projects and get in touch with them directly, - function as a contact person for external questions from experts, cities or organisations that want to know more about your case studies
You can find relevant projects from over 110 major cities around the world using a single search and get in touch with more than 120 registered experts directly on the platform and build your professional network. From the 165 projects on the platform, 40% have been recognised internationally.
